Designs by Sharon

Today I wanted to share a card I received in the mail from Sharon, a good friend of mine.  I meet her during my open house last year  but it seems like I have known her forever.  She makes the most beautiful cards and craft items.   Check out her blog: inkwooddesign.com.  If you want something to do this weekend, she will be at the La Cueva High School's Mother's Day craft fair Saturday, May 2, 2015.
Sharon makes a lot of  vintage crafts and cards.
She always does some kind of sewing on her crafts.

I just love this butterfly embellishment.

Hope to see you at the craft fair Saturday!  Have a fabulous day!

Painting with Sisters

Hello, How is everyone today?  Doing well I hope.  Today I am sharing some pictures of my sisters and I taking a painting class. We took the class at Kelly Jo Designs By Wine.  I have to say I was a bit skeptical about the whole painting a picture thing but we had such a great time.  Our paintings didn't come out so bad either....LOL
My sisters Renee and Lisa.

My sister Jovonna and myself.

The class is set up with an instructor showing examples
and step by step instructions.  Then the music is turned
up and you start painting away.  They have a bar
to purchase wine which is optional.  You are allowed
to bring in food and eat snacks as you paint. We shared
our table with a bridal party shower and they had lots
of good snacks.

There are many Paint and Wine shops around town in Albuquerque I recommend you sign up and enjoy!

Just A Note

Hello.  How is everyone doing today?  Are you ready for the weekend? Any plans for crafting?  I was given a box of old sheet music from a friend who found it at a Estate sale.  The lady was a music teacher and the music had lots of notes written on it.  I hated to cut it up but I finally broken down and used it.
Using Tim Holtz distress inks I distress the paper,
then ran it through an embossing folder to give it
an aged look.

I thought "Just a Note" was perfect for this sheet music.

A close up of the sheet music.

This ribbon was in a $1.00 bin at Joann's.
It was a great buy!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a GREAT weekend!

Ladybug Invites

Happy Wednesday to you!  My daughter's friend was planning a First birthday party for her daughter and she chose Ladybugs as the party theme.  I volunteered to make the birthday invitations for her.
These are the four samples I made for her to choose from.
The only difference is the antennas and the spots.

On the samples I sent her, I put some made up
birthday info inside  so she would
have some ideas for her invites.

All the antennas were done with punches.  Some
of the spots I added glitter or embossing.

Here are the completed birthday invites. She
chose the embossed spots and the small antennas.
Hope your garden is filled with lots of ladybugs this summer.

Shelter Tree

Welcome! Today I am sharing some cards I made at a SU class I took with Mary Waring a Stampin  Up (SU) demonstrator.  The class was so much fun and I came home with four cards and a home decoration. Of course I loved the stamp set and yes I did order it.....LOL
We stamped the tree four times then inked and
stamped each card for the four seasons, spring,
fall, summer and winter.

You can't tell from the pictures but we used the
sparkle glitter glue on the leaves and snow for
each season.

We stamped the trees a second time on the
canvas paper from SU and added them to a frame.
I love this idea.
Some days in Albuquerque, NM we have all fours seasons....  Have a super great day!

Treasure Life's Little Moments

It's Friday and April is half over already.  Its crazy how fast time goes by.  Today I am sharing a card I made using a CTMH stamp set, inks for the background and Flower Soft.
Starting with a white piece of CS I used blue ink
and a piece of torn card stock.  I laid the torn paper
on the white CS and inked the top of it leaving
the cloudy sky.

I did the same technique for the grassy hills and then
stamped the rest of the scenery.

I glued flower soft to the trees and added the birds
and some bling to the flowers.

Inside of the card.
We get so caught up in our busy lives that sometimes we don't enjoy those little treasured moments in life until we look back and realize how special that moment was.  Today tell that special someone how much you love them! Have a awesome weekend!

Ships Ahoy, It's A Boy

Hello, Hope your having a fabulous day so far.  Here are two other cards I made for the Nautical Themed baby shower. Now these look like baby cards compared with the "Ahoy It's A Boy" card I posted on Monday.  Don't you think?
I found these boat embellishments in my stash and
thought they would be perfect.

The elephant and star embellishments went perfect
with the boats.

On the second card I used a punch to make the water.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Happy Stamping!

Ahoy, It's A Boy!

Happy Monday everyone! Did you enjoy your weekend?  Hope you were able to do some crafting.  The baby shower I made this card for was a Nautical theme.  I took part of the baby shower invite and used it to make the baby card.
I cut "Ahoy Its' A Boy" from the invite and attached
it to a piece of burlap. I used a die cut for the rest
of the embellishments.

The baby shower was Chevron blues and red so I
made that the base of my card.

Inside of the card.
I am not a big fan of  Nautical Theme.  What can I say I live in the desert, water is not my thing but I have to say they did a wonderful job of decorating for the baby shower.  It was beautiful.  Wish I would have taken pictures to share.  Enjoy your week!!

Baby Shower Card

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful week. Last month I had a baby shower to attend so one evening I headed into my craft room to make a baby card.. I knew I wanted to make a baby boy overalls card so I found some inspiration on Pinterest.  My first mistake was being in my craft room in the evening.... I am a morning person....What was I thinking to be crafting at night...?????  Now looking at the picture below the card looks perfectly fine, but its not....keep reading.
Since I didn't have any jean looking pattern paper I
started with a plain light blue piece of CS. Using a
background stamp I added the jean texture look to the CS.
I cut out the overalls, added the stitching with black pen,
and used blue inks to distress the edges.

I added some embellishments in the pocket.

These buttons from my button stash fit perfect.

This is the first card I stamped and cut.

OOPS! I cut the wrong side of the fold!!
So I re-stamped it and cut it again.  You guessed it,
I cut the wrong side again...UGH!!!!!!
Finally after the third attempt I got it right.  I should
have stopped and called it a night at this point but
I kept going determined to finish this card.

After all the decorating on the front of the card was
done I attached the inside panel and stamp it.  Yippie
I was finished!!  That's when I realized I had attached
the inside panel to the wrong side of the card.
UGH!!!!!......UGH!!!!......UGH!!!!......UGH!!!
My lesson here is to never craft late at night...(past 7pm) Hee hee.  Check back next week and I will share with you the cards I finally made for the baby shower....Enjoy your weekend.

Another Birthday Folio

Today I am sharing the other envelope folio I made.  This one was for my sister Jovonna's birthday.  I filled it with lots of pictures of her as a baby and growing into adulthood.
The ribbon used here is very old.  I found it at an Estate Sale.

The paper packet is from
Teresa Collins-Stationery Noted.

This paper packet had sheets of printed and
blank labels I used through out the folio.

I used envelopes I had from my stash so I didn't
have to make the envelopes this time.

Since I used regular envelopes they had the glue on
the inside flap. I covered them with pattern paper to
prevent them from getting moist and sticking together.

This is the insert I made to hold pictures.  It was
inserted into one of the envelopes.
See the pictures below.

We had a family dinner for Jovonna's birthday and it was so much fun to look at all the pictures and remember and celebrate Jovonna's life.  This is truly a wonderful gift to give to one of your family members.
