Here is my last quilted card.  This pattern paper was pretty heavy so I didn't emboss it.  The quilted pattern came from the same blog of yesterday's card.

I wanted to try 1" squares but that made the card way to big.
So I changed the yellow strip down the middle to 1/4 "
left the rest 1" and it worked perfectly.

My daughter said it looks as if its just paper printed with this design.
What do you think?  Thinking about it now not sure if that was a
compliment or not. I guess by the third card I followed
the gird sheet better...hee hee. I
added the ribbon
and a button to give it some life.

This button was in a tin can that was given to me filled
with buttons. It looks like a red hat but it goes perfect with the card.
I hope you enjoyed these quilted cards as much I enjoyed putting them together.  Maybe I need to take some sewing lessons......On second thought I should start with all those shirts that need buttons first....ha ha
I Thank You Sew much for stopping by!!

Quilt Card Pink & Black

Today is my second attempt at a quilt card.  This one came out much better because the pieces all fit together.  LOL
The design of this card came from a quilters blog "Quilt Blocks Galore!!.
Wow!  She has so many beautiful designs.
On this card I only embossed the CS and not the pattern paper.
I used 3/4 " squares just like I did for yesterdays card.

I added a bow and stamped the "For You" tag.

This design was a lot of fun to play with.  It was like putting
a puzzle together.

I have one more quilted card to show you tomorrow so I hope you stop by.  Enjoy your day!

Quilted Card

For those of you who really know me, I don't sew.  If it needs a button it goes to the back of the closet.  hee hee.  I have always admired those who sew and quilt.  What beautiful work they do.  The many hours they put into their projects!!!  I decided to tackle a quilted card.  I viewed a tutorial at www.splitcoaststampers.com and thought I would give it a try. This is a first of three quilted cards I made.
I did follow the tutorial step by step for this card using 3/4 "
squares.
I used a paper grid sheet to align each row of squares.
As you can see the first left row over lapped the next row.
Now you know why I don't sew...hee hee

I thought the paper looked a little flat so used an
embossing folder and embossed all of the squares
before I glued them down.

It was a bit challenging at first but all in all it was fun.  Hope you stop by tomorrow and check out the next quilt card.  Have a super great day!

It's Monday, a start of a new week.  I hope this week brings you smiles and time to relax
and craft.  Today's card was made using the floral oval die cuts and an embossing folder.
I embossed the pink CS and glued it to the brown card.
The ovals were inked around the edges then layered
using foam tape to the pink CS.

I just love this lace.  It was a whole bundle I got in the
clearance sewing bin at Michael's.

Using the floral oval die cut I cut out an oval with pink CS,
then cut out the center and attached it the the design above.
Not wanting to throw away the outer end I attached it
to the inside of the card below.

Inside of the card.

Have a Happy Day!!!

Here is another card using the "Scrapbook Statements-Women" stamp set.
The paper is a crushed velvet from a paper packet I got
from Costco a long time ago.  The ribbon is a Recollection set.

The shoe is a CTMH stamp.

As women I am sure glad we don't wear high heels everywhere
like our Mother's and Grandmothers did in those days.  LOL

Inside the card
Thank you for stopping by today.  You have a fabulous day!!

Happy Wednesday to you.  Today's card is made using a new stamp set from CTMH, a heart punch and oval die cut.
The dress is made by punching a heart and oval out of CS.
The oval is cut in half, then I embossed and distressed it.
I glued it to the heart and wrapped lace around where I
attached them together giving it a waist line.  I added
two pieces of CS for the top straps.

Of course I had to add bling to the dress and card.

The stamp set is "Scrapbook Statements-Women" #B14201
page 90 in the new CTMH catalog.

Make sure to check back tomorrow for another statement from this same stamp set.  Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Prayer, fasting and almsgiving

We celebrated Ash Wednesday in the Catholic Church last week. It's a time of prayer,
fasting and almsgiving. I thought this would be a good card to start the 40 days of Lent.
I just received these stamp sets from SU.
I stamped the praying hands and distressed it with ink.

I used a die cut and cut out a piece of brown CS and
glued it over the hands.

Wrapping the card with brown ribbon, I then attached the
saying and paper flowers.

Have a Blessed day!

My daughter made some homemade gifts for her boyfriend and for her dog Bella for Valentines Day.
Rice Krispy treats made using a funnel from Tupperware.
(The funnel is showings it's age look at that orange color...LOL)

She covered  them in foil to look like Hershey's kisses.

She printed out the paper toppings.

She made a Rose Bouquet of Bacon.
Yes you read it right.  It's BACON.

Does it look like the a real Rose?

These are homemade dogie treats.

This dog cutter was given to me from my sister-in-law Pauline.

Stephanie frosted them with yogurt and peanut butter.

She packaged them up and gave them to Bella's dog cousins.
She did a great job on her homemade gifts don't you think?  Have a super great week!!!

Happy Friday to you all!!  The card I am sharing today is a very simple white and black note card.
I cut the squares using punches, layered them and attached the flowers.
The white zig-zag is made with a punch.
I added a string of white pearls between  them and added the bow.

This card could be used for almost any occasion so I left it
blank  to be stamped as I need it.
May your weekend be filled with family and friends.  Hope you can set aside time for crafting.  God Bless.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today I am sharing a gift I made for my Husband for Valentine's day "52 Reasons Why I Love You". I am sure you have seen this on Pinterest or a blog already but I thought it was a fun gift to make.    I have to admit it was not that easy coming up with 52 reason why I Love my husband.  Not that I don't have 52 reasons ( I came up with more than 52)  but it's not as easy as it seems....LOL
I took a deck of cards and sanded them.  Using inks I distressed
the fronts and backs of the cards to give them a vintage look.

I punched holes in the cards and attached the red CS.

I typed up the 52 reasons, cut them out, distressed them
and glued them to the red CS.

I added small hearts to the backside of the cards.

I attached a set of rings to hold the cards together.
I hope you try this idea.  It's really fun thinking of all the reasons why you love someone.  I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's day today.
