Pencil Vases

Happy Monday to you!!  Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday.  Well it's official. My Daughter graduated from College on Saturday and now she has 30 years to retirement....LOL  All this week I will be sharing some of the decorations from her graduation party.  These are the pencil vases I made along with the paper flowers.
I used  pencils, rubber bands and vases.
This idea came from the Dollar Store web site.
They have some great decorating ideas there.
I put three rubber bands around the vase. I then added pencils inside
the middle rubber.  The other two rubber bands help hold the pencils together.

Inside the vase ready for flowers.
This glass vase took 52 pencils.  That was to many pencils for me.

Trying to make as many vases as possible at the lowest cost
I decided to use these plastic cylinders instead of the glass ones.
I get this plastic cylinders from my Church.  They are candles
and when they burn out they throw them away.  Of course I
keep them and use them for many of my crafts.
I punched flowers out of scrap paper. Stamped some of
them, added buttons and attached them to a straws.

Here is the finished vases with flowers.
Each one took two boxes of pencils. (32 pencils)

I tied ribbon around the rubber band on the outside.

As you can see I used scrap paper that had words on it.
The white flower on the left is a paint card sample you
find in the paint stores.  It's purple on the other side.

Top view of the flowers
Boy that was a lot of pictures today.  Sorry about that...Have a super great day!
